Environmental Engineer Job Purpose: To design ways to improve the environment including the prevention and treatment of air, water and land pollution as well as waste disposal.
Environmental Engineer Job Duties:
Collaborate with environmental scientists, city planners, hazardous waste technicians, engineers, other environmental specialists, lawyers and business experts to determine ways to protect and improve the environment surrounding a building site.
Evaluate industrial and city facilities to determine if they are effective and comply with environmental regulations.
Design and supervise processes or equipment to control, manage or repair water, air or soil quality.
Obtain permits, update plans and maintain operating procedures to keep the project on schedule.
Design systems and solutions which will protect the environment surrounding the project site.
